I saw the poster today for the vaccination programme for La Oliva area - a chance for dogs to receive an anti-rabies jab and/or get chipped at lower rates than the vets normally charge.

The City Council of La Oliva is once again launching the anti-rabies vaccination and dog identification campaign, aimed at animals whose owners reside in the municipality of La Oliva and accredit them with a residence certificate or DNI.

The campaign will run from July 4 to 26.

Thus, in the Cultural Center of Corralejo it will be on July 11 and 25, from 8:30 to 14:30; in Villaverde, next to the playground, on July 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on July 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Cultural Center of Lajares and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Cultural Center of El Cotillo.

On July 26, the campaign reaches La Capellanía, from 8:30 to 14:30; In La Oliva it will be at the premises of the old pharmacy on July 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For its part, on July 18 it will take place at the Tindaya Cultural Center from 8:30 to 12:30; in Vallebrón from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the one of Caldereta from 16:00 to 17:30; and in the Parque Holandés from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

"We have maintained this action with the implementation of specific measures to guarantee the safety of users," says the councillor for Public Health, Joana Pérez, who recalls that "the safety distance of 1.5 meters must be respected and can only be paid with card".

The price of the service is 20 euros for rabies and microchip vaccination and 5 euros for vaccination only. In order to perform both services, it will be necessary to provide the animal's card.

With this campaign, vaccination of rabies and animal identification is carried out through the implantation of a microchip in those animals that do not possess it, carrying out the updating of the municipal canine census. La Oliva City Council subsidizes part of the cost of services.
