Thanks to the Cabildo's language immersion grants
A total of 25 students in the 4th year of ESO received their certificates after completing six months of online training and a four-week stay in Ireland during the summer, thanks to the language immersion scholarship program of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura. The Minister of Education, Adargoma Hernández, delivered the diplomas to the participating students on Monday.
President Lola García highlights the importance of these scholarships for the academic and personal future of students. "This program not only allows them to improve their English proficiency, but also offers them an enriching experience by living with other cultures. The knowledge and experiences they have acquired during these months will be fundamental for their development in an increasingly globalized world."
For his part, the Minister of Education, Adargoma Hernández, underlines the commitment of the Island Corporation to the training and growth of young people in Fuerteventura. "From the Ministry of Education we work to offer opportunities that allow our students to broaden their horizons. This experience has not only helped them improve their English, but has also prepared them for future educational and professional challenges."
The 16-year-olds took an online English course that allowed them to reach the required level before traveling to Ireland, where they continued their language training. During their stay in August, they lived with native Irish families, which gave them a unique opportunity to practise the language in a real environment, as well as attend English classes and take part in cultural visits.
The language immersion scholarship programme is one of the key commitments of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura to promote language education among young people on the island, providing them with tools that allow them to function in a multicultural and competitive environment. During their stay in Ireland, the students participated in cultural activities and excursions that complemented their academic training, sharing classes with young people from other countries and enriching their global perspective.
