APARTAMENTOS PALM GARDEN VS Alberto Apartments
#1
Hi there,

We're thinking/planning for late next winter or early spring. Call it March or April. Palm Garden is cheaper which would let us stay longer. But the reviews are all over the place. The question is for the Money how bad is it? In other words are the negative reviews expecting champagne on a beer budget or is it really that bad?

One other option is the Alberto apartments. Obviously much nicer. Not that much more Money. The issue here is some reviews mention the "private" terraces have other guests using it to access their rooms. April I'm not too worried about the Weather but March might be an issue. If the beach is windy and cold we'd like to use the terrace the same way we'd use the C/O beach .

Thanks

Palm Gardens, I believe, are mostly privately owed and are very cheap to buy. So luck of the draw which one you get. Most look adequately comfortable but not topend luxury. Alberto were recently (year or 2) sold by Alberto. They are old but most have good views, but not private terraces unless stated. No aircon when we stayed there but again adequate. Seem popular/quirky.
Nice 2-storey aparts next to Coronado Hotel just steps down to beach. Called Garden something. Now owned by Esmeraldaresorts.
Depends where you want to be. Igramar and Villamar are ok in town and Villamar has roof terrace above Padilla. Best booked direct.
Only my view, and things change with time.

From what I can tell from the reviews Alberto was renovated 2016 or 2017. The pictures all look quite nice.

thanks to you both. I think the Alberto makes more sense.

Not sure you could walk naked from Alberto Aparts unless you are very bold. You have to go through the town's pedestrian precinct area!! Or do you know another route, Sam? Haha.

Will, yes looking at the photos it has definitely been updated. When we stayed there the settees and beds were concrete with a cushion or mattress on top! Looks v nice now.
