Considering the option of whether to change to fibre to get a more stable connection.
First anyone got experience of the cost difference between adsl & fibre?
Secondly how long does the process take to switch on the island.is it days/weeks/........?
Thirdly is movistar the best bet to go with or anybody has experience of Europa (read bad reviews online for Europa)?
If you have changed to fibre is it worth it are the speeds and bandwidth as good as you were expecting without breakups happening during peak times?

It depends where you The Island, it is my understanding that fibre is not yet widely available, I believe some areas down south have it and parts of Corralejo and Rosario, someone else will probably be more specific, do not go near Europa or Eurona { same company } all promises and no action. Good Luck

We have fibre with Movistar which was on offer recently with 6 months at half price. We pay 27e a month including line rental which will go to 54e for the remainder of the first year. It is not a huge amount more than we were paying for adsl and is hugely quicker as thsy connect fibre all the way to your router. We are in Jandia by the way.

Does anyone know if there are plans to eventually replace all the adsl network on the island with fibre?
I am not sure about this, but I believe I read somewhere 3/4 months back that The Canarian Government had allocated millions of Euro,s for this to happen in 2020

Well went into Movistar office and when they checked my house it seems that I can`t get fibre to my place, despite my friend who lives not too far away having had it installed last week. Seems like the main fibre cable laid but not enough boxes to supply houses a bit further away Enquired when other boxes might be put in place a shrug of the shoulders implied that manyana continues to be the answer as usual.
So anyone finding their close neighbours have had fibre installed check out your property is actually able to get it before you get too excited.

I am with Europa, and have been for over 6 years without any real problems. I paid for fibre optic internet to be installed last May. Europa were told it would be available in my road in La Oliva in two months but I am still waiting. I always said that hell would freeze over before we got decent internet here and I think I may be right.

We are in Caleta, and used to be with Europa under their non de plume Eurona, and the only thing we found they wre good at was making promises and breaking them, switched to Rural Internet, and we get what we pay for
