Apple's new third-generation processors have initially been dubbed with the 'codename' of Lobos, La Palma and Ibiza. These are technological advances that will improve the performance of the products of the American brand, which has crossed the pond to seek the denomination of these products in their initial phase.
It is not the first time that a company of these characteristics uses Ibiza cone 'code name' for one of its jobs. In 2015, Microsoft also used the name of the island to refer to the Cloud project from its incipient phase until it was finished. Later, at its launch, it changed its name.

The first, Ibiza, has been used by the company for the processors (which come to be the engine) of the less powerful devices, such as iPads and Macbook Air. Broadly speaking, these new processors will carry three-nanometer (nm) chips, which replace the previous generation, 5nm. Each step in this direction uses smaller technology (chips) that consume less and offer superior or similar power.
A lower-performing variant codenamed Ibiza would target iPads and the MacBook Air. A future A-series chip for iPhones is also expected to switch to a 3nm process at that time, according to Apple, a U.S. company that designs and produces electronic equipment, software and online services and enjoys a great reputation in the sector.
The most powerful third-generation processors are code-named Ibiza, Lobos and La Palma. Lobos and La Palma are intended for MacBook Pro and "Desktop Mac". It is a curiosity, but it is surprising that a technological giant like Apple crosses the Atlantic and enters the Mediterranean to name its products. Anyway, it is a temporary name, and it is most likely that over time it will be renamed in another way.
