Cabrera Marichal, former civil guard accused in the Botavara case, arrested with two kilos of coca.
José Cabrera Marichal, former agent of the Civil Guard and who was the main convicted in the Botavara case, was arrested on Monday at the dock of Santa Cruz de Tenerife when he was caught with two kilos of cocaine, according to advances in its digital edition the Canarias 7.
Cabrera Marichal arrived on the island in the afternoon by boat and was captured by agents of the Civil Guard. When searching his belongings, they detected that he was carrying a package with that narcotic substance.
He was arrested immediately, transferred to the premises of the Civil Guard and will be brought to justice in the coming hours.
It should be remembered that the Supreme Court (TS) sentenced in 2021 to 6 years in prison and a fine of 1.5 million euros to four civil guards, including Cabrera Marichal who was the ringleader, who devised a plan to introduce by sea a cache of 733.55 kilos of hashish in Fuerteventura, from Morocco, with the purpose of allocating them to illicit drug trafficking on the island, where it would reach a value of 1,150,178.92 euros.
