From the Altihay Family Group and the "Light Heels" Hiking Group we are organizing a hiking route through Calderón Hondo in Lajares, it is a very simple route, suitable for everyone; families, youth and children over 5 years old.

The meeting point would be "Lajares Soccer Field" and from there we would approach to where the trail begins. Don't forget to bring a hat, water, sunscreen and a snack. Any questions you can call Altihay phones that are: 828-912-381 / 669-512-381. From Monday to Friday from 8: 00-14: 00 and on Tuesday evenings from 17: 00-20: 00. Cheer up we will spend a healthy and fun day !!!

Easy hike for any age group. Recommended at least once in a lifetime.


... If you feel more adventure, try the hike from the opposite direction (take the first left instead of following the main path). The reward is even a better view of the volcano.

Totally agree with Sam.Take the left hand route and then continue to Corry. You will enjoy your ice cream on arrival and try the cheese at the farm.
Many years ago one of the little craters up there was actually a local land fill!!
