Canarian Shrews
#1
What a treat this evening! I spotted 2 shrews high up in a night cactus plant. Unfortunately by the time I grabbed my phone I only managed to get a short video of the back of one of them.
Looking online there is very little info. They are endemic to the eastern Canary islands and on the Endangered list.
I'll be ready and waiting tomorrow evening - just in case!

How lovely. They have to be one of the cutest creatures on the planet. Hopefully a breeding pair so you might have baby shrews.

Any more sight of the shrews? Guess they’re elusive little critters. Perhaps they were extracting nectar from the cactus flower. Would love to see a photo of them if you can manage it.
