Canary net no longer available
#1
Hi there We havent been out to our place in Pueblo de Pescadores on the Fuerteventura Golf site in caleta for nearly 2 years .
Obviously things have changed with the COVID lockdown and it seems that my usual supplier Canary-net is no longer trading. Sad to hear that as it was sufficient for our needs.
We only come out for a few weeks at a time so permanent wired broadband is no good, the hotspot system worked fine.
I have a had a look through the recent threads and it sounds as though a Spanish sim might work for us but I do want to stream TV programms on my firestick which might be a problem.
Are there any suppliers of hot spot internet in the Caleta area still going?
Any advice on the best way forward would be greatly appreciated.
Ian

A Digi.es sim card in my phone streams things almost perfectly on my firestick. No contract, 40GB of data, 2000 mins of national and international calls for 20 Euros a month. If you are prepared to go for a contract, 17.50 Euros per month covers unlimited data, national and international calls. To stream UK TV, we use TVMucho and chromecast, an excellent and legal service. One hour per day free, or unlimited viewing while abroad for 6 Euros per month. We're only part timers here!

If your community has had fibre fitted it will (I think) be roughly the same cost getting the fibre into the house as getting a wireless receiver.
Also neater as it got pushed through the phone duct.

We use Fuertiwifi's 30Mb fibre service which is pay as you go and is cheaper than our previous wireless system (and 3 times faster).

Many of the mobile phone shops stock Digimobil SIM cards, and often local corner shops as well.  I know several in Corralejo, but that is not much use to you.  Sorry, I don't know about shops in Caleta area.

Try the website for information: www.digimobil.es

There is a local shops map on the website.  Enter your street or postcode
