Agents of the National Police have arrested in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Algeciras a total of 12 men of Senegalese (2) and Guinean (10) nationalities and a woman of Spanish nationality, as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization. Recently, the National Police intercepted and detained in a routine control carried out in the arrivals terminal of the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote an individual, who was transporting a suitcase inside which 1,300 grams of heroin were located.
An investigation was then initiated that allowed to identify a criminal network that extended its networks from the island of Lanzarote to the island of Fuerteventura, reaching the town of Algeciras. The criminal group, made up of at least 13 people, used domestic flights to smuggle cocaine and heroin into the Canary Islands.
In the course of the Police operation, 13 house searches were carried out in Arrecife (Lanzarote), two more in Corralejo (Fuerteventura) and finally one in Algeciras, where 6 kilos of cocaine and 1.75 kilos of heroin were seized, in addition to 93,000 euros in cash.
