El Castillo beach gets new loos
#1
Radio Sintonia:

The beach of El Castillo has a new shower area and public toilets.

The City Council of Antigua, from the Department of Beaches, has installed six new public toilets and two showers on El Castillo Beach that will have a continuous cleaning service with the hiring of three people for this purpose.

Response to the demand of the residents of El Castillo

The installation, maintenance and management of the service is in charge of the Canary Islands Beach Services company, Secapla, whose managers showed the new area of public bathrooms and showers, fully accessible, to the mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña García and the Councilor for Tourism and Beaches, Deborah Edgington.

"We respond to a demand from users of El Castillo beach, but also three people are hired permanently for maintenance and cleaning, and adds the mayor, spacious and accessible bathrooms, comfortable showers and a ramp with walkway that allows its use to all people, including with reduced mobility, "says the City of Antigua from a statement.

"These bathrooms and showers provide a demanded and necessary public service, they also add up in an area near the promenade, the beach terrace or the sports and training area," says Councilwoman Edgington.

Replacement of old bathrooms

The councilor also announces the immediate removal of the old bathrooms, being replaced by a shaded platform designed for the rest and enjoyment of bathers and beach users.
Complying with the regulations, this area of bathrooms and showers is not fixed or permanent, being an installation with the possibility of modifying its location if it were considered, also points out the Councilor for Beaches, recalling Edgington that from the promenade to the beach accessible steps have been conditioned, which will be progressively expanded by replacing stairs with access ramps with safety railings and grip.
