The City Council of Puerto del Rosario , through the Department of Works and Services , led by Juan José Herrera , will tender the project in the next few days to execute the realization of a multi-sports court in the El Matorral neighbourhood of the capital's municipality.

The work will be made up of a multi-sports court, as well as two Canarian ball fields with their respective warehouse to deposit sports equipment , as well as the realization of a unique platform on Estera Street that connects with the recreational area on the same plane to facilitate pedestrian traffic in the area .

In this sense, it is intended to create a recreational area , in addition to improving accessibility in the El Matorral area in collaboration with the Accessibility Department , which is led by Lilian Concepción , by carrying out a pedestrian crossing on El Bielgo street . Likewise, the pavement will be carried out in La Empleita street and El Baifo street , among other actions.

The amount allocated for this project amounts to the amount of approximately 300,000 euros .

Both the mayor of Puerto Rico, Juan Jiménez , and the councillor for Works and Services, José Juan Herrera , state that “ this type of action corresponds to the commitment that this government group has with the citizenry and, more specifically, with the residents and users of this neighbourhood, in the commitment to improving the neighbourhoods and towns of this capital. In this case, it is intended to provide El Matorral with a recreational area, in addition to conditioning the area with the elimination of architectural barriers, leading to improved accessibility and security, creating, for this, pavements in the urban core in compliance with the accessibility regulations, so that they are spaces for the use and enjoyment of all citizens in general ”.

The El Matorral Football field is already operational after the completion of the works corresponding to the ' Installation of Artificial Grass and Irrigation System, the Construction of Changing Rooms, Adjoining Areas and the Grandstand of the El Matorral Football Field 7 ', which have been managed through the Sports and Works Councils of the Puerto del Rosario City Council.

On the morning of this Monday, September 14, Mayor Juan Jiménez, together with the Councillor for Works, José Juan Herrera, and the Councillor for Sports, Aurelia Vera, visited the facilities to participate in the reception of the works, whose value of The contract amounted to 505,867.65 euros, excluding IGIC, and which had been awarded, after the corresponding public bidding process, to the entity Contrata Tecnología de la Construcción y Obras Públicas SA.

The Mayor Juan Jimenez, said this performance that corresponds to " the commitment of the government group pay special attention to maintenance of municipal sports facilities.
