From Radio Sintonia:
Almost €3 million from the EU for electric buses in Fuerteventura.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Crafts, receives a total of 2,828,038.16 million euros from the Next Generation funds destined to the Shock Plan for Sustainable, Safe and Connected Mobility in Urban and Metropolitan Environments, within the Program for the Implementation of Low Emission Zones. To obtain this amount, three lines of action were presented, which are the ones that will be developed. A first consisting of the implementation of electric buses on the Puerto del Rosario-airport line. A second of equal vehicles for the Puerto del Rosario-Corralejo bus line and a third axle for the implementation of smart canopies.
The Minister of Industry, Domingo Pérez, is very satisfied with the receipt of this subsidy, "since it allows Fuerteventura to continue betting on sustainability, and gradually replace the public transport buses of fossil fuels, by zero-emission electric vehicles, a clear commitment to the environment, which from this ministry is being promoted and in which we will continue working".
This financing granted by the Government of Spain, through the Next Generation funds, is included within the line aimed at sustainable and non-polluting mobility, which has been granted after the request presented by the Ministry itself, which presented the three projects and for which financing has now been obtained.
