The House of Culture of Puerto del Rosario hosts the national exhibition 'What your eye does not see'.
- This new exhibition opens this Thursday, June 2, at 7:00 p.m., and can be visited until June 29 for free from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This Thursday, June 2, the national exhibition 'What your eye does not see' is inaugurated at the Casa de la Cultura in Puerto del Rosario, in which visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate, through a compilation of 20 photographs taken with a Scanning Electron Microscope, a detail of various materials that, with the naked eye, they cannot be seen.The mayor of the municipality, Juan Jiménez, and the Councilor for Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, invite citizens to visit this exhibition that "brings the spectacular world of nanoscience images and also, with it, to the different themes and lines of research that are developed at the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences", Detail.All the photographs on display are accompanied by a short explanatory text in Spanish and English.Scanning Electron Microscopy is an effective tool for the study and evaluation of all stages of the construction life cycle (raw materials, manufacturing, commissioning of a structure, use, recycling/reuse). Thanks to this scientific field, samples can be observed with magnifications of up to 250,000x, which has led to important advances in the understanding of the structure and composition of building materials, as well as the phenomena and reactions that occur in their interaction with the environment.Participating in this exhibition are the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, the CSIC (Spanish Council for Scientific Research), and the FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology).
