FEAGA 2019
#1
I was down at the Pozo Negro site today where there is still a lot of building going on. I asked the plants guy when FEAGA would be this year and he said it had been planned for the weekend that includes 28th April - now to be the Spanish General Election - so he didn't know whether it would be going ahead.  Cry

(As an aside they still haven't reopened the plant sale area - he said next week, like he did last week and the week before ………)  Big Grin

"Next week" has a similar meaning to "mañana" but without the sense of urgency Smile

Because Sam this is Spain, thinking about attending FEAGA, and who you are going to vote for would be considered multitasking, or at the very least thinking about two things at once. not something that happens a lot here Rolleyes Rolleyes

The main day at FEAGA is the Sunday, which will be election day.  Having to vote before or after visiting FEAGA might be difficult!

And they won't be able to move it one week forward because that's the Easter Sunday (21st April). What's about one week later. Wednesday is the El Primero de Mayo Bank Holiday anyway.. Huh

Thanks Captain I just saw the great news at FuerteventuraDigital, here's the whole (translated) article:

Quote:The Fair of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of Fuerteventura Feaga 2019 will have new facilities to house the events of its first regional edition, which will be held from 13th to 16th June 2019. In this way, the Cabildo has renewed the spaces of the Pozo Negro experimental farm, with an investment of around three million euros from the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan), installing three new warehouses for institutional, commercial use and livestock exhibition, respectively, and also conditioning the old facilities to create a more modern and sustainable site.

"We have opened a fairground that has more than 10,000 square meters under the roof, in addition to the large central courtyard. Its location will also make it possible to reconcile the operation of the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro with the realization of other types of fairs or events during the year, "said today, Friday, February 22, the president of the Cabildo, Marcial Morales , in a meeting with the media, along with the general director of Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands, David de Vera, the accidental mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña, and the insular advisor of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan Estárico.

"It is also projected a photovoltaic installation, which will allow facilities to rely exclusively on renewable energy such as sun and wind, and which is expected to go out to tender later this year," Morales added.

For his part, David de Vera congratulated the Cabildo "for the new facilities that will house the events of a fair that is already consolidated as a regional area and that continues to grow with a greater number of visitors, exhibitors, as well as administrations present in the same ".

Also, Peña highlighted "the great work done by Cabildo and technicians of the Granja de Pozo Negro for the renovation of the facilities," and recalled that "from the City of Antigua is still betting on the primary sector of the Island."

According to Estárico "this year the institutional ship, the commercial ship and the ship for the cattle are released, and in 2020 we will also have a new warehouse for offices, dining rooms and the new assembly hall where training courses will be held throughout the year and other types of events besides Feaga. "

Feaga 2019 will have a new institutional hall of 2,500 square meters, with an investment of 593,637 euros, designed to house the activity of institutions of town councils, municipalities, the Canary Islands Government, cooperatives, associations, brotherhoods, as well as media.

For its part, the Cabildo has invested 989,497 euros in a showroom for commercial houses that offer products related to the primary sector, an installation has 5,000 square meters.

Among the new ships is also the one destined to cattle exhibition, 3,575 square meters. This installation has involved an investment of 714,315 euros and will house larger and smaller livestock, and participant in the morphological and dairy performance contests held within the framework of Feaga.

Likewise, the old facilities are improved, with the refurbishment of the old institutional building, of 1,694 square meters, which after the arrangements will go to the Biosphere Market, cheese contest, tastings and culinary activities such as show cooking, cheese route or route of wine, with some works that have a budget of 55,000 euros.

In addition, the Cabildo has invested 397,369 euros in the conditioning of road access to the Fair, with a new layout completely asphalted from the main road to the fairgrounds.

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has opened until April 26 the registration period for merchants and groups that want to participate in the Fair of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of Fuerteventura (FEAGA) 2019, which is held from June 13 to 16 in the enclosure of the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro.

In FEAGA 2019 there will be room for the commercial stands of producers and marketers of sectors of the Fair, with priority to companies in direct relationship with the primary sector. Likewise, they may register groups of different types such as cultural, sports, social, schools or institutes of the island, among others, legally constituted and with contrasted activity, for bar-restaurant and ventorrillos.

Individuals can submit applications for registration in the Register of the Town Hall of Fuerteventura or at any of the Citizen Service Offices of Corralejo, Gran Tarajal or Morro Jable, or through the electronic headquarters of the Island Corporation. For their part, legal persons (companies, groups, associations, etc.) must do so only through the electronic headquarters.

Interested persons can access the registration application and consult all the information on the Cabildo website, www.cabildofuer.es.
