I was down at the Pozo Negro site today where there is still a lot of building going on. I asked the plants guy when FEAGA would be this year and he said it had been planned for the weekend that includes 28th April - now to be the Spanish General Election - so he didn't know whether it would be going ahead. 

(As an aside they still haven't reopened the plant sale area - he said next week, like he did last week and the week before ………)

The Fair of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of Fuerteventura Feaga 2019 will have new facilities to house the events of its first regional edition, which will be held from 13th to 16th June 2019. In this way, the Cabildo has renewed the spaces of the Pozo Negro experimental farm, with an investment of around three million euros from the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan), installing three new warehouses for institutional, commercial use and livestock exhibition, respectively, and also conditioning the old facilities to create a more modern and sustainable site.

"We have opened a fairground that has more than 10,000 square meters under the roof, in addition to the large central courtyard. Its location will also make it possible to reconcile the operation of the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro with the realization of other types of fairs or events during the year, "said today, Friday, February 22, the president of the Cabildo, Marcial Morales , in a meeting with the media, along with the general director of Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands, David de Vera, the accidental mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña, and the insular advisor of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan Estárico.

For its part, the Cabildo has invested 989,497 euros in a showroom for commercial houses that offer products related to the primary sector, an installation has 5,000 square meters.

In addition, the Cabildo has invested 397,369 euros in the conditioning of road access to the Fair, with a new layout completely asphalted from the main road to the fairgrounds.

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has opened until April 26 the registration period for merchants and groups that want to participate in the Fair of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of Fuerteventura (FEAGA) 2019, which is held from June 13 to 16 in the enclosure of the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro.

In FEAGA 2019 there will be room for the commercial stands of producers and marketers of sectors of the Fair, with priority to companies in direct relationship with the primary sector. Likewise, they may register groups of different types such as cultural, sports, social, schools or institutes of the island, among others, legally constituted and with contrasted activity, for bar-restaurant and ventorrillos.

Individuals can submit applications for registration in the Register of the Town Hall of Fuerteventura or at any of the Citizen Service Offices of Corralejo, Gran Tarajal or Morro Jable, or through the electronic headquarters of the Island Corporation. For their part, legal persons (companies, groups, associations, etc.) must do so only through the electronic headquarters.
