The City of La Oliva presents the poster of El Carmen 2019, a program to enjoy a safe, participatory, clean and inclusive parties
The Events will take place from July 6 to 21, with the maritime procession scheduled on Tuesday, the 16th.
The City of La Oliva announced this morning the program of the Fiestas del Carmen 2019, which will take place between July 6 and 21.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, led an act in which the councilors of the areas that collaborate in the organization participated. The programming is coordinated by the Department of Culture and Celebrations, directed by Iballa Pérez, with the collaboration also of the Departments of Works and Services and Citizen Security directed by Oliver González, or Tourism and Cleaning by Marcelino Umpiérrez.
Without forgetting, said the mayor, "these parties would not be possible without the hundreds of people, groups and entities involved in each of the Events," said Jesse Blanco. "The Fiestas del Carmen are a bond of unity to integrate in our traditions all the people of a diverse municipality like this, and with an undeniable tourist impact, also attracting visitors from all Fuerteventura, and also from other islands."
Among these groups participating in the festivities, Goyo Benítez, representative of the Neighborhood Association of the Casco Viejo de Corralejo that organizes the International Encounter of Improvisers, Agustín Martínez "Tinín", on behalf of the Cultural Association and Grouping, attended today's event. Folkloric Dunes of Corralejo, which announced a special performance of the group in the mass of the Virgen del Carmen prior to the procession, and Patricio Martín, on behalf of the association and group Aires de Mascona and the Insular Federation of Waffles of Vela Latina , that from the new directive wants to revitalize the regatta on Saturday 20.
Iballa Pérez highlighted the program that aims to "reach all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest, we want to invite them to participate in this great event, and to enjoy festive, traditional, musical, sports and cultural activities."
With regard to the main Events of the program, the Councilor for Culture and Celebrations announced that Friday the 12th will be the II Big Band Meeting of the Canary Islands, and the Young Night at the fairground, with the Pilgrimage of the Virgin the next day, Saturday the 13th, and evening verbena. On Sunday the 14th, the Children's Gala stands out.
On the night of Monday the 15th, the Gala de la Reina is celebrated, and the main day of the program and festivity in the municipality will be on Tuesday, July 16, with the Maritime Terrestrial Procession of the Virgen del Carmen, which will culminate with the performances in the fairground of the Orquesta Dorada Band, of Tenerife, and the Majorero group N-KLAVE.
The program continues on Wednesday the 17th with the Fiesta de Nuestros Mayores, on Thursday the 18th with the Night Procession of the Virgin and the pyrotechnic show upon its arrival at the Muelle Chico, and the two festivals held at the fairgrounds on the nights of Friday 19th and Saturday, July 20.
The celebration of the XIV Encounter of Improvisators by the Casco Viejo de Corralejo, which will offer two sessions on Saturday, the 20th, at 12:30 at the Muelle Chico and at 20:30 at the square Patricio Calero. On Sunday the 21st, the program ends with the Fiesta al Solajero in the morning, and, in the afternoon, also at the Muelle Chico, with the traditional popular barbecue.
The tourist projection of the parties depends in good part of the council of Tourism that Marcelino Umpiérrez directs, distributing the programming in several languages in the tourist establishments. The Cleaning area, and also that of Works and Services, directed by Oliver González, are fundamental in logistics and in the daily cleaning of the town after each act.
Also the Prevention Area, from the Department of Social Welfare directed by Rafael Benítez, again this year will focus especially on the Young Party and the rest of the program, promoting actions of equality, prevention and responsible consumption.
