Radio Sintonia:
'Fuerteventura in Music' arrives on June 30.
The next edition of the festival 'Fuerteventura en Música' (FEM) already has a date: the weekend of June 30 and July 1, 2023, on the beach of La Concha in El Cotillo, where various foreign and local artists will meet.
The Colombians Bomba Estéreo will headline the first day of a festival that invites, above all, to dance. As explained by the president of the Cabildo, Sergio Lloret, during the presentation of this musical event, held at the Palace of Training and Congresses today, Monday, April 3, "we repeat one more year with this initiative that xxx
The director of the Festival, Raúl Rivero, explained during the presentation how "in this proposal for FEM2023 we have included for each day different styles, but that have in miscegenation and contemporaneity, their seal of identity, and a common link: the invitation to dance".
With its rhythms of electronic music fused with rock, reggae, alternative reggaeton and rap with airs of the Colombian Caribbean, such as cumbia and champeta, Bomba Estéreo will put all attendees to "move the skeleton" in the sand of the majorera beach.
The 'line-up' of the first day is completed by the root music of Ara Queen of Drums from Nigeria, the Canarian-Venezuelan group Tabaiba, with its urban rhythms, and the timple of the majorero Althay Páez.
The second day will have as headliners the Spaniards of La Pegatina, with rhythms ranging from merengue to rumba or ska to gypsy punk or hooligan chants, as well as the Chilean Ana Tijoux, one of the most respected contemporary Latin artists, who unites in her proposal the most urban music with protest messages, of feminist struggle, empowerment and defense of environmental and social values.
The second day's lineup is completed with the electronic cumbia of Instituto Mexicano del Sonido, a project led by Camilo Lara, one of the most influential artists in Mexican culture, with a long career in the world of music; as well as with the R&B of the Nigerian Ruth Mahogany; the Canarian Mel Ömana, with her rhythms of Cuban folklore and Latin rap, and the majoreros Saylén and Abora Reggae.
In collaboration with the City Council of La Oliva, the Cabildo will take the festival to this natural environment, which, as since its inception, will continue to have a vocation for environmental awareness and indie spirit.
