Maybe bury the pot in the ground?
Hi Tamara, where could I buy the gritty sand and/or the molida? Thanks.
I got mine from Fenimoy ferreteria in Villaverde originally in sacks. Then I had a cubic metre of molida delivered, organised by my builder. I believe he ordered it from the lorry guys on the industrial estate with Ideal. The guys at the bottom just as you turn up towards Ideal.

In the end I went for picon molido, 2,44€ per sack at Aridos Alonso. I suppose a cubic metre would be cheaper but I'm OK with sacks.
If you visit Lidl at the Costa Antiqua industrial estate (IKEA etc) you will see several very nice ones at their car park entrance - full sun and regular but little water. Some of the best ones I've seen are along the drive to the Tres Islas hotel on Corralejo dunes - absolutely amazing - and definitely full sun.
I've just bought some from Oasis garden centre at the Zoo and are going to put them in a raised bed in full sun.
Good luck - let us know how they do.
