Grants for rehabilitation in Fuerteventura
#1
Noticias:

The Plenary of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura has approved today, Friday, July 29, the new bases to grant aid aimed at supporting interventions in properties declared of Cultural Interest (BIC), cataloged or of recognized heritage cultural interest. Some subsidies granted by the Ministry of Historical Heritage, directed by Rayco León, to support conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of historical heritage.

The previous bases only contemplated those properties with the consideration of BIC or cataloged. This considerably restricted aid, since today no municipality has managed to approve its municipal protection catalogs. With the new bases approved, the aid is extended to any building that has recognized cultural and heritage interest, opening the range of potential beneficiaries.

For the island president, Sergio Lloret López, "this is a great step to guarantee the protection of our historical heritage, which is part of Fuerteventura's past".

According to the island councilor, Rayco León, these new bases seek to comply more efficiently with the objective of these subsidies, which is none other than to promote the conservation and restoration of the important heritage of the Island, thus guaranteeing its preservation.

The new regulatory bases of the subsidies will go through a period of thirty days of public information, after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas.

From the area of Historical Heritage, it is also recalled the importance of promoting measures for the protection of cultural heritage and that municipalities develop their municipal catalogs. This is a fundamental tool to guarantee the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Island and its drafting is the responsibility of the municipalities.
