The Fuerteventura Health Management organizes a training meeting on cardiopulmonary recovery
The Management of Health Services of the Health Area of Fuerteventura, dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, organizes the I Congress Heartbeats that save: awareness and immediate action in the face of cardiac arrest.
The meeting will take place on October 15 and 16 in the auditorium of the island's General Hospital to provide professionals involved in cardiopulmonary recovery with a space for analysis and debate.
Coinciding with the European Day on Cardiac Arrest Awareness that is commemorated every October 16, during the day theoretical and practical content will be taught so that participants can update their knowledge related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, the use of the semi-automatic external defibrillator (AED) and the unobstruction of the airway.
On the first day of the congress, whose sessions will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., four simultaneous workshops will be given: two of them aimed at the staff of the Fuerteventura Health Area, one for the general population and the last of them on basic pediatric CPR, aimed at interested parents.
On October 16, the day will start at 09:30 a.m. and during the morning three discussion tables will be held.
CPR training projects will be the first and, in turn, will feature the talks An hour for life, With your hands you can save lives and CPR+AED training for the staff of the Fuerteventura Health Area.
The second round table discussion will analyse the legislation related to cardioprotected spaces in the Canary Islands and the last will discuss the current challenges for the implementation of high-perimeter cardioprotected spaces.
The congress will have a total of 120 places available. Interested persons can register through the link https://forms.gle/7q85cMaMDtmkDuxw9 and, subsequently, the coordinating team will evaluate the applications received to prepare the selection of candidates according to the established criteria.
