I found this information on the AENA site. It records the total amount of passengers through Fuerteventura airport (arrivals and departures) from 2004.

Ryanair withdrew all their services to the island end of Jan 2008 due to a dispute with some tourist authority dept. At the time they were carrying somewhere in the region 250,000 passengers pa. I'm not sure when they reinstated the routes but it had to have an effect.

By those figures that looks about right then if they didn’t carry any for 2009. Glad they got it sorted out though or we would be a bit banjacked

Yes Ron, it was our 1st long stay and we had to choose between flying back home with Fr a few days early or doing the full term and paying about £100-£150 more to fly with another carrier. Needless to say we caught Fr's last plane to L.pool. Btw we visited again 10 weeks later and Caleta was like a ghost town.
