The City Council of La Oliva adopts these measures to compensate for the decrease in income of companies and families, and also announces the suspension of the embargo processes, the payment of invoices to suppliers, and economic departure for social aid.
The City Council of La Oliva today announced the postponement of all municipal taxes and fees until the State of Emergency has ended, a measure that the mayor of La Oliva valued as "logical and supportive , taking into account that the income of the families, companies and self-employed in the municipality have been drastically reduced ", said Isaí Blanco.
The Councillor for the Economy, Juan José Rodríguez, specified that "the city council postpones all taxes and fees such as the IBI, garbage collection or vehicle taxes", as well as "all embargo procedures are stopped". "We are working on the formulas to do so, because ordinances must be modified, but the important thing is that the residents know that they can be calm in this regard."
Another important measure is the tax credit "up to the maximum that we can", Rodríguez indicated, "without logically compromising the budgetary stability of the City Council".
In this sense, the City Council works to subsidize charges that affect businesses and businesses, such as the collection of commercial and industrial garbage, or the occupation of public roads, in this case from the Commerce area. "Most of the business fabric of the municipality is paralysed, and the main affected are the shops and the hospitality sector. For now, the receipts of the terraces and the collection of garbage will not be drawn, and these amounts will be reduced as much as possible this year ", explained the Councillor for Tourism and Commerce, Marcelino Umpiérrez.
Finally, the Department of Economy and Finance, from the Department of Intervention, works to streamline pending payments to suppliers so that all companies and freelancers collect their bills during this period of inactivity.
The mayor of La Oliva, appreciated that "in a situation as worrisome as the one we are experiencing, the City Council has to step forward to help all the people who live in the municipality, at the tax level, as explained , but also enabling all the games that are necessary to attend to those who need it ". Therefore, he announced, that "in the next few days we will report on the measures being developed by the Department of Social Welfare at the level of aid and care for people in need."
