La Oliva crash plan for parks and gardens

Noticias:

La Oliva announces a crash plan in parks and gardens.

The mayor of La Oliva Pilar González has announced a crash plan in the parks and gardens of the municipality. After several intense days where accompanied by municipal technicians and collaborating companies she was able to visit all the facilities and garden areas evaluating their current state, "it was decided the need to undertake a comprehensive action throughout the municipality with the aim of unifying public spaces in aspects as important as gardening and children's recreational elements, Likewise, the work of replanting palm trees will continue to recover a usual image of the municipality and that had deteriorated over the last few years, where more than 1,000 palm trees were left to die and all the weeds that appeared due to the heavy rains of recent months will be eliminated, "says the note.

"The works of La Tunera Park, the former Botanical Garden, which is called to be a meeting point for leisure and sport and a benchmark as a green space in the urban centers of Fuerteventura, will also be completed within this plan," explains the municipal press release.

This shock plan will be executed entirely in charge of the item corresponding to the Department of Parks and Gardens that has assumed, a month ago, the mayor herself after the latest changes undertaken in the organization chart of the government team.

Pilar González has assured that "it is the most ambitious plan of the last decades and is aimed at recovering much of what has been lost both at the level of plants and recreational facilities, recover lost spaces and create throughout the municipality a common identity that allows us to build what we want for La Oliva, A space of admiration and pride for all, those who live here and those who visit us".

I remember a few years ago seeing a plan for a recreational/park area in front of the big Hotel in El Cotillo.
If only that had happened rather than the lunacy that’s going on there, Cotillo ‘could’ have been saved.
