La Oliva municipality clean up meetings
#1
A recent initiative - a shame it's not published more in advance of the 'meets'!

From Noticias on Friday:

This Saturday a new cleaning meet returns within the framework of the awareness, beautification and cleaning campaign 'Por La Oliva' organized by the City council of La Oliva through the Department of Neighborhoods managed by Rafael Benítez.

On this occasion it will be the turn of Villaverde where the neighbors are summoned for this Saturday, November 20 from 10:00 am at the DATSIMAAL cultural center of Villaverde. During the day there will be a beating through the neighborhood in which different spaces will be cleaned. Subsequently, a talk of awareness and civility will be offered by Martínez Cano Canarias and the day will close with a brotherhood lunch among the participants.

In the first edition, held last Sunday, November 7 in Lajares, more than 50 neighbors participated. In total, more than 100 kilos of waste were collected from the streets of Lajares, mainly bottles and cans. "The effort of these neighbors who have participated in the cleanup will have been useless, if our streets are dirty again in this way; we must assume the collective commitment to keep in good condition those spaces that are everyone's", appeals Councilman Rafael Benítez.

The campaign, developed by the Department of Neighborhoods of the consistory, is complemented by a series of actions that are already executed by the City Council with removal of stubble, reconstruction of fallen walls, replacement of damaged signage or painting.
