The last section in the comprehensive remodeling of Marcial Sánchez Velázquez street in Caleta de Fuste
This week the asphalting of the second section of this main road of the tourist town is underway, advancing towards the final section next to the promenade.
The mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña García, the Councilor for Urban Planning, David Alberto Guerra, the Councilor for Works and Services, Juan Cabrera Peña, together with the municipal technician, have visited the progress of the comprehensive remodeling works of Marcial Sánchez Velázquez street that are being carried out in Caleta de Fuste.
This week the asphalting of the second section is being carried out, leaving the section closest to the promenade to be completed, says the Councilor for Urban Planning, David Alberto Guerra. The comprehensive remodeling of this main road includes inclusive paving following the parameters of accessibility, the same action in the modernisation of the drinking water network, the burying of all the electrical wiring, and the channeling of communication connections.
"We always excuse any work for the inconvenience they cause in its execution," says Councilor Juan Cabrera, but the result and its benefits at the end, for example, of this complete intervention in Marcial Sánchez Velázquez Street, are visible in its progress and development, with the renovation of all low-consumption and high-performance luminaires, installation of urban furniture such as rest benches and pedestrian crossings, all providing comfort, safety, and quality to residents, shops, establishments and tourists who travel this main road".
The comprehensive remodeling of Alcalde Marcial Sánchez Velázquez Street involves an investment of more than 2.5 million euros financed by the City of Antigua in a complete investment in Caleta de Fuste of more than 13 million euros, says the mayor.
The recent meetings held by the City Council of Antigua with contractors and construction managers have resulted in "a boost to all the works, increasing personnel and acquiring the necessary material to finish sections and allow their immediate asphalting, as is the case of this road," adds the municipal councilor.
