Note to moderators: I did not find a suitable forum topic - please move if required.

Have you wanted to make some changes at home recently?
Maybe install a digital assistant so you can ask how the Weather is or how much wood a woodchuck could chuck?
Perhaps you want to upgrade to smart lights so you can ask your assistant to turn them on, off, or dim them all from the comfort of your couch or beautiful cozy warm bed?
Maybe you want to install some security cameras, so you can go away for a few hours or days, knowing that if anything moves in your space, your phone will immediately notify you?

Or maybe it's your business that you want to improve?
Find software to handle all the mundane tasks and accounting?
Get a system so that guests can digitally and securely access that property on AirBNB?
Refresh that website and allow people to buy or book online?
Record some videos showing people what you do and why they need you!

Life would be just that little bit sweeter if we all had more worry-free time exploring and enjoying the beautiful island we have all decided to call home.

I am Omar, and for the last 20 years, I have been working across Europe in the world of Technology and Media.
My Love Affair with this island started in the summer of 2019, and I officially became a resident a few months later - much to the sadness of my previous clients in Germany (my home for the last five years).

Now that I have brought my skills, knowledge, understanding, and passion to the islands - I want to share them and offer them to you to help you make the most of our time here.

I do not plan to make a fancy snazzy website. For the last five years, all my clients have been via word of mouth, and I intend to carry that on here.
In fact, I first came to the Canarias to do some work in a property a German client purchased Smile

I live life with a smile, and I want my work to put a smile on yours.
If you have any Tech or Media Questions, remember I'm your Local Technology Consultant & Media Production Guy.

That's it!

P.S. After many years of running my own consultancy, I have decided to take things at a slower pace and start writing a book and do some coaching. I do still have a team that is dotted around Europe.
I regularly visit La Palma Island since I have a growing number of clients there - but my base is in Fuerteventura.
I am fully registered here and will provide invoices for projects.
I am not a "Jack of all trades" I am a master of technology, and cooking.... and driving... and... Living a good life.

I am based in Corralejo, but I drive up and down the island every week (1750km in Dec 2019) - and flying to other islands every month (already Binter Silver cardholder)

Thank you for the wishes!
Smart things do make our lives easier (and safer) - but I know it can be confusing with too much jargon and the latest marketing hype. I just wanna make everyone's life easier through Tech Big Grin

Hey Omar, fellow techie here too.
Our plan is to take early retirement move to Corralejo (in a few years time).
Would be good to hook up when we visit later in the year.

Hi Can,

Unfortunately I have had to pause all this work due to COVID.
Not because of masks or such, but I had to “Shift Business” and have not been able to shift back.

Sorry I’m unable to help at this time Sad

Hi Can,  if you have an Internet connection, consider fitting a WiFi camera internally and externally.  Yiu can set them to alarm mode and get an email alert if anyone enters the zone covered by the camera.

Not a complete solution, but might help.

There are a number of companies on the island who offer to install security alarms, Movistar are one, plus many others but I just can't remember the names ATM.
