I unfortunately broke a plastic clip that held my varifocal glasses lens to the frame so I took them into MULTIOPTICAS in the Atlantico Centre where they ordered a part, emailed me and replaced the clip in a very friendly COMPLIMENTARY (FOC) manner.
I cant recommend them highly enough.

They are nice people and will do minor repairs for no cost, however, we both had eye tests about two years ago with them and subsequently bought new glasses from them, suffice to say we will not be using them this year.

May I ask why? We may have had a similar experience. Both wife and I had eye tests and new specs (2 pairs each) at 721€, both varifocals. Whilst my wife was reasonably happy with hers, I never really have been to the extent that I had my eyes re-tested after a couple of weeks. They said the prescription was correct but I wasn't happy.
Now need to have them re-tested soon, may go to Puerto.

Sounds very similar, I cannot remember the actual cost but it was in the same ballpark, and neither of us has been particularly enamored with them, the frames look and feel very fragile, but were the best option available, my wife has already had her eyes retested, and there are significant changes in the prescription, but as she has cataracts developing has decided to stay with what she has, I, however, have an appointment next month, and if the prescription has changed significantly I will pay for the eye test and order the glasses online a good friend of mine has used the same online site for his glasses for about 20 years and is always pleased with them, by the way, my wife went in to Puerto for her last eye test, used the place two streets behind Las Rotundas, apparently a very professional operation, I can not remember the name, but if required will look it up.

Yes, I would be grateful for the recommendation. I know someone who flies back to the UK to go to Specsavers for heavens sake.

I will look it up later today, returning to the UK seems a tad extreme

Why not use Glasses Direct ?
Don’t know if the ship internationally but you could always get them sent to a friend with a U.K. address & have them sent on to you
