Maintenance of more than 1,000 kilometres of slopes in Fuerteventura

The third recebe train of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura improves the roads in Juan Gopar

The third recebe train of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura has begun improvement work on the roads in the town of Juan Gopar, in the municipality of Tuineje. Thanks to the incorporation of this new machinery, maintenance work can be carried out simultaneously in the northern, central and southern areas of the island, ensuring a comprehensive and permanent improvement in the more than a thousand kilometres of dirt roads that run through Fuerteventura.

The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, and the Minister of Works and Machinery, Blas Acosta, have stressed that this measure allows the roads to be kept in optimal conditions for longer, significantly improving the traffic of vehicles and the safety of the people who use them. To this end, the island corporation has the collaboration of the different municipalities of Fuerteventura.

At the same time, the Cabildo has launched a comprehensive road maintenance contract this year, with an investment of close to 8 million euros. Since June 2023, more than 20 kilometers of resurfacing and road improvements have already been carried out in all the municipalities of the island.

I agree with you both, however it could be that the Cabildo de Fuerteventura is only responsible for resurfacing certain roads and the local municipalities do the more minor roads although back in England Highways England are responsible for motorways and trunk roads whilst local councils are responsible other roads including A roads that are not trunk roads which has caused a major issue within 8 miles of our place in Grange.

From the photo with the article not sure if is referring to sorting dirt gravel tracks? -Linnk to article and photo
