This amazing ice cream parlour opened recently in Puerto Sol on the Antigua side of Caleta (last street in that direction before the scrub ground between the two towns), and I just wanted to leave a recommendation here for those who might not have heard of or tried it.
We've visited at least once a week since their opening, and it is without question the best ice cream place in Caleta! They have a huge range of flavours, and do a nice range of take-out ice cream "cakes", too. They're a little on the pricey side: a large cup with two flavours is €4, but the quality is so excellent it really is worthwhile. They offer a tiny cone with chocolate dip for just €1 if you want to see if it's up to par, and they've recently introduced the fancy ice creams in glass bowls with fruit etc. for €6-€10. They also offer coffee for €1, though we haven't tried that and so can't speak to the quality. It seems to be run by a pleasant Italian family who are always friendly, and there's a lot of seating outside to enjoy the atmosphere— or if you prefer, you can have it to go, as the main street is only a minute away on foot.
I would recommend the Nutella and Vodka Caramel flavours, which are particularly excellent, but everything we've tried had been top tier. We're heading home tomorrow and we're really going to miss it— though maybe ice-cream in the horrible cold isn't a good idea, anyway!
