The service of the island's four clean points has tripled in recent years
The Island Council has awarded the supply of a mobile clean point that will bring recycling to the different towns and municipalities, "something that is essential on an island with long distances like Fuerteventura", according to the president of the Island Corporation, Lola García. The supply has been awarded to the company Fruehauf Recambios S.L., thanks to the coordination between the Ministry of Waste, directed by Enrique Pérez, and the Contracting area coordinated by Luis González.
Lola García indicates that, taking into account the geographical dispersion of the populations of Fuerteventura, "an itinerant clean point is acquired that complements the fixed facilities and that brings recycling closer to all residents. All this, in order to improve waste management in Fuerteventura and continue walking towards a circular economy".
For his part, the Minister of Waste, Enrique Pérez, points out that "there is increasing awareness on the part of citizens when it comes to recycling. Visits to the four clean points that the Cabildo de Fuerteventura already has have tripled in the last year. Fuerteventura is at the forefront in some recyclable fractions such as glass".
Enrique Pérez explains that "this increase in recycling also coincides with the entry into operation last year of the new service". In addition, Pérez adds, we work with the municipalities to have the clean points that the municipalities need.
Windermeregolfer personal note - I find it unbelievable how many people DO NOT use the recyling bins fill grey bins with cardboard, plastic and glass 😡😡😡
