New information panels to identify the trail of turtles returning to spawn

Google translate of Fuerteventura Digital:

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has installed information panels with necessary information to identify the trail left by the turtles that return to the Island to spawn. The campaign Tracking Caretta caretta launched by the Ministry of the Environment, directed by Natalia Évora, is aimed at local Police, beach watchmen, surf schools, tourists, schoolchildren and the public, in general, so that they can learn to identify the trail of the turtles when they return to spawn in beaches of Fuerteventura and to act properly before the discovery. The five posters have been installed in the viewpoint and beach of Cofete, Punta de Jandía and La Pared, all in the municipality of Pájara.
The loggerhead turtle is a very threatened species worldwide, so from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Government of the Canary Islands, the ADS Biodiversity Foundation, the Government of Cape Verde and the University of Palmas de Gran Canaria (Ulpgc) has come developing the project to expand the reproductive habitat of the loggerhead turtle ( Caretta caretta ) in Macaronesia. It is estimated that from next summer they can return to spawn beaches in Fuerteventura examples of turtles born within this project and released in Cofete. At that moment another phase of the project will begin with the control and monitoring of nests from individuals born in the Canary Islands.
"Finding and knowing how to communicate the appearance of a trail will become one of the fundamental actions of this project and at the same time it will be a fundamental finding for the conservation of the species," said the president of the Fuerteventura Cabildo, Marcial Morales, during a visit made this week to several points where these information panels have been installed. Morales was accompanied by the Minister of Environment, Natalia Évora.

"Among the actions included in this campaign, we also highlight the surveillance with Environment personnel, both on foot and through drone, talks, develop teaching and informative material, and place information posters at strategic points where the appearance of the turtles to nest, "Évora announced.
