New picnic area in the area of Cohombrillo, in Lajares.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the ministries of Sustainability and Environmental Management, has completed the works to build a picnic area in the area near the hostel of El Cohombrillo, in the town of Lajares. This work has the collaboration of the City of La Oliva, which has ceded the plot of land of 4,256 square meters.
The president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Sergio Lloret, has valued these works "to provide a comfortable space connected to nature for users", he also added that this picnic area "will not be the only one because cooperation with the municipalities by the Cabildo in this regard will continue with new phases".
The Minister of Environmental Sustainability, Lola García, has highlighted the need to provide the area with a recreational space, with a work that has contemplated not only the construction of the picnic area, but the land has been conditioned, enabled trails for users and the construction of an outdoor barbecue made of masonry.
According to the Minister of Environmental Management, Pedro Martínez, the environment has also been conditioned with the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the stone walls of the environment and built a wooden walkway.
For her part, the mayor of La Oliva, Pilar González, appreciates the commitment of the Cabildo to provide the area with a place of leisure and interest for visitors, as well as the beautification of the environment.
