Nudism around Morro Jable
#1
Hi all
Me and wife spent many happy hols on island from about 1990 to 2005 enjoying everything the island had to offer - including me finding as many “spots” to go without clothes as possible.
Fast forward nearly 20 years and lots of life getting in the way we thought we would grab a quick week break back on island. Booked around Morro Jable just north of lighthouse and am so disappointed….!☹️
Textiles everywhere and got some very disapproving looks from them when dropped my shorts as walked down to seas edge and had a dip.  I was very respectful, went to area between rescue towers T5 and T3 (as recommended on this site), avoided walking near any families with children etc
There was only 2 others with nothing on there and whilst I am not biased I do prefer to see younger nudists than 80 year age olds!!! No disrespect to them but good looking bodies are kinder on the eye, right?
Suffice to say if we do bother to return to the island I will make sure we don’t book the south east coast. As another member said on a post, I fear nudism is dead on that part of the island and the prudes have taken over …. even though many of the tourists seemed to be German which surprised me

Sorry to hear that.

We were there back in February of this year, and there weren't many nudists on the beach, but I certainly wasn't alone, the largest concentration were on the South West side of the lighthouse just past T3, with another small group just before you get to the Pirate Beach Bar.

I walked naked from T3 right around the headland to Playa Butihondo, without any negative reactions.

The video is on my YT channel https://youtu.be/0k2Tkn1f6CE obviously for YT I had to pan away from the other nudists, but if you look carefully you will still spot one or two.

As with all beaches in the Spanish territories they are clothing optional, not nudist, so each to their own, the presence of textiles doesn't bother me as long as they let me get on with my way of living.

Cheers

There can always be some disapproving looks but it's strange you only saw two other people. The loungers just past T3 are almost always 100% nude. The sand between here and T5 is also often fairly nude. If it bothers you keep walking north past the rocks. I guess three km. That section is not only often fairly nude but the cliffs protect you from the wind.

I got back a week ago and certainly saw more than two naked bodies. Yes more older than younger but aren't we all older than yesterday?

Bummer about the disappointment! Next time, maybe scout out a different spot on the island for a better vibe.

Quick question Will. Is T3 the one opposite the lighthouse? We are staying in Jandia for the fist time in September and will be looking for a beach spot. We will no doubt be renting a car, so we can return to our usual haunt up the road in Esquinzo if Jandia beach is a flop

We were there back in Feb 2024 and I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

From T3 onwards nudity will be encountered among the textiles.  Personally I'm happy to be naked anywhere, so it was lovely to be able to walk the shore line naked and nobody bothered me.

From the main town down the board walk from the loos and before T3 it was textile with families and children, although I could legally have been naked, I kept my shorts on until I got to T3 where other nudists where happily mingling with the textile beach users.

If you are looking for a *nude* beach this is not it, but it is a very nude tolerant beach with many textiles and if you; as I did, choose to wear nothing, nobody is going to complain.

My video of the walk is here https://youtu.be/0k2Tkn1f6CE

I walked naked back to where we were staying a mile or so further up the beach, and was accepted the whole way, on the way there were one or two other nudists, some in groups, mainly textiles, but nobody as far as I was aware had a problem with me being naked.

Jandia around Morro Jable is all inclusive tourist country and you get that sort of tourist. There are loads of other wonderful places to enjoy naturism on the island.  Some where you can be the only other people for miles and miles.

In my opinion. the beaches to the North of La Concha at El Cotillo are probably the best mix of the two for a very relaxed nudist experience.

At the beach cafe across from Palm Garden there is a walk way to the water. When you get to the loungers they're divided into two sections. The one closest to the walkway is mostly textile. The one next to closer to the lighthouse it is mostly not textile.

To me the lighthouse is basically the area between T3 and T4. The sandy area.

If you're looking for a lounger plenty. If you're looking for a protected sandy area I'd keep going to past the surfer shop and below the Aldiana Club Fuerteventura. The cliffs will protect you. There are some stone walls if you want a bit more privacy.

On Google maps its called Piedras Caídas. Fallen rocks?

Thanks Will & OT for the reply’s. We will check out the area and if finding a reasonable spot involves too much of a trudge from the hotel, I guess we will be using the hire car.
Our usual spot is Esquinzo below the Robinson, but we have used Costa Calma near the H10 Esmeralda, the lagoons at El Cotillo andodd days at playa Juan Gomez and Playa de Garcey. The last two could land you in grief if you have an accident or an issue with the hire car. Never tried the du es national park though

Thanks Ian

If you don't need loungers just keep going past the Aldiana. You'll run into a series of stone circles.

Or if it's not windy and you don't mind open spaces the sand in between T3 and T4 isn't bad. But if it's windy it's a sand blasting.

Yes I agree, if you are not requiring a lounger, then around the headland below Club Aldiana is ideal, as there are quite a number of 'castles' to sunbathe in out of the wind and they extend to just past the Royal Palm Resort.

Long video, but you can see the possibilities https://youtu.be/qoapcgdfWiY
