Afternoon Guys.
Does anyone know where or if I can buy industrial strength oven cleaner? we bought what was supposed to be a self-cleaning oven, which is not, and although we hardly use it needs virtually weekly cleaning, and the stuff that is available in Mercadona, Spar or Hiper Dino is useless
To me drinking responsibly means do not spill it.

Hi John, sorry can't help with what might be available on the island, back here in the UK we use Oven Pride, for the selves, trays and bottom of the oven. The side and back walls and roof of the oven which can be removed on our oven, if needed, are the self cleaning part and there is a special cleaning program for which I have to read the manual each I do this, so not sure if yours may be similar.
Hope that helps, by the way I could bring an Oven Pride next month when we drive out again.

John, old-fashioned oven cleaner used to be made from caustic soda (sodium hydroxide NaOH)
Then this was banned or withdrawn, for whatever reason.
I think you can still buy this chemical in a pool store, as it is used for PH balancing. You may have to order it, as the island shops do not stock a full range. If you go in the store (not Solcan, but the other one on El Matoral estate), they have a catalogue. The guy ordered Cal-hypo for me, no probs.
Worth a try?
Be careful mixing it and wear gloves and eyewear.

Try Saavedra in PR. They sell all the HG cleaning range and I think there may be one for ovens. They may stock other lines. On the other hand any good ferreteria, as opposed to a supermarket, may also sell such cleaning products.

Thanks, John, I may take you up on that if all else fails.

There is an oven cleaner in the hg range but you would have to see if saavedra stock it.

It is also available on Amazon. I know nothing of how Amazon works in Spain.

Thanks for that Amazon works well here, delivery can be a bit long, but if you tell them you live outside the EU, they deduct the VAT and that saves some of the post costs

That's good to know they stock the HG range - their mould killer is excellent for walls/tiles/bottoms of showers curtains etc.

John, I'm intrigued! What are you cooking that makes such a mess that you need to deep clean your oven so often?
