The city council of Puerto del Rosario approved in full the past 25 February the regulations for this type of dangerous animals that today publishes the official Bulletin of the province.
It must be remembered that potentially dangerous animals are considered to be those that, belonging to the wild fauna, and being used as domestic or companion animals, regardless of their aggressiveness, belong to species or breeds that have the capacity to cause death or injury to people or other animals and damage to things.
They will also have the qualification of Potentially Hazardous, domestic or companion animals that are determined by regulation, in particular, those belonging to the canine species, included within a racial typology, that due to their aggressive nature, size or jaw power, have the capacity to of causing death or injury to people or other animals and damage to things.
In this sense a list of dogs that would be in this last category has been prepared, and that in the case of Puerto del Rosario would be the Pit Bull Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, Akita Inu and Bull Terrier. In addition to other dogs that meet requirements developed by the law of special strength or fierceness.
1. Be of legal age and not be unable to provide the necessary care to the animal.
2. Not having been convicted of crimes of murder, injury, torture, freedom or against moral integrity, sexual freedom and public health, association with an armed gang or drug trafficking, as well as not being deprived by judicial decision of the right to Possession of potentially dangerous animals.
3. Not having been sanctioned for serious or very serious infractions with any of the accessory sanctions of those provided for in section 2 of article 23 of this Ordinance. However, it will not be an impediment to obtaining or, where appropriate, renewal of the license, having been sanctioned with the temporary suspension of the same, provided that, at the time of the request, the previously imposed suspension sanction has been complied with. entirely.
4. Have physical capacity and psychological aptitude for the possession of potentially dangerous animals. The psychological aptitude certificate will be issued once the necessary tests have been passed to verify that there is no disease or deficiency that may imply psychological or psychological incapacity
5. Proof of having formalized a civil liability insurance for damages to third parties with a coverage of not less than two hundred thousand euro (€ 200,000).
