There is still work to do, so I don't think it will be open very soon, but I hope I'm wrong.

Radio Sintonia:

The president of the Island Council of Fuerteventura and responsible for the Ministry of Infrastructure, Sergio Lloret, visited today, Wednesday, October 5, together with the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of the Government of the Canary Islands, Gustavo Santana, the General Director of Road Infrastructures, José Luis Delgado and the Counselor Claudio Gutiérrez, the new semi-link of Parque Holandés that, since its availability today, it will increase the fluidity of road traffic between the northern town with the FV-1 highway.

This fulfilled "a historical demand of the neighbors, who had been waiting for more than 12 years," sergio Lloret recalled, while, as stated by the two public representatives, it has been possible to cut by 3.5 kilometers the route of this space that is part of the communications of the North-South Island Axis.
The Deputy Minister, Gustavo Santana, for his part stressed the "commitment of the Government of the Canary Islands with the North-South Axis of Fuerteventura", stating that this new infrastructure not only "culminates a request from the People of Dutch Park", but will also allow "to provide the road with more usability".
Its achievement has been the result of the coordinated work between the Island Council and the Government of the Canary Islands, to which Lloret has transferred "our offer to continue working in coordination, so that this semi-link becomes a complete link with its different branches," the president emphasized.
Thus, the president of the Island Corporation and responsible for the Road Service, reported the planned intervention, through the Insular Plan for Cooperation to Works and Services of municipal competence (PICOS), for the paving of the current road between the new infrastructure connecting the Dutch Park.
A road that, according to statements by Lloret, "the forecast of the Island Council is that it becomes part of the Insular Road Network, since it is linking the highway with the coastal road", but that, in the meantime, is expected to be the subject of the paving work, projected through the PICOS, and for whose tender only the availability of the land by the City council of La Oliva was pending, which was approved in the last plenary session of the municipality.
"It has not reached us yet," Lloret clarified, "but as soon as it reaches us, we will give as much speed as we can so that the works are tendered and we trust that in two months or three they will be awarded," he predicted. Not without pointing out that, in his opinion, "the sensible thing would have been that, as progress was made in the semi-link project, progress was also made in the paving of the rural road." Objective of the Insular Corporation that, according to its president, was transferred "in several meetings" to the municipal authorities of La Oliva.
In any case, once the new road infrastructure is opened, the Cabildo already foresees the processing of the project that leads to the incorporation of the service road to the Insular Road Network of the Island, as well as, as President Lloret transferred to the counselor of the Government of the Canary Islands "we are willing to incorporate the branches that are missing from this semi-link to complete all the movements, so that this semi-link becomes a complete link, as demanded by the neighbors, since we believe it is the best solution for Fuerteventura"
With an allocated budget of more than one and a half million euros, the works for the paving of the road that connects the new semi-link and the town of Parque Holandés will have an execution period of 7 months, once the public award process has been completed.

Driving north to south on FV-1 yesterday was impressed with the new signage at the new exit to Villaverde and Parque Holandés.  You could certainly exit the FV-1, no barriers seen but how far you would get to Villaverde or Parque Holandés is anybody’s guess.

I understand the tender has recently gone out for the Parque Holandes road surfacing so probably a few years away yet although they have given the rough road a scrape to make it smoother Big Grin
Beggars belief that it was not part of the other contract!

Radio Sintonia:

Parque Holandés will connect with the new semi-link of the FV-1 in 2023.

The new interconnection road between the town of Parque Holandés and the new semi-link with the FV-1, already announced during the provision of the latter, will become a reality in 2023.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Roads, Territorial Planning, directed by Sergio Lloret, has put out to tender the works for its materialization through the Insular Plan of Cooperation to Works and Services of municipal competence (PICOS), with a base budget of almost 1.9 million euros.

President Lloret wanted to "thank the involvement, responsibility and good work done by both the Infrastructure Service, Contracting, Intervention and the Legal Service so that this file, so demanded and needed by this part of the Island, could go ahead".

In this way, the Insular Institution complies with "the commitment acquired with the residents of Parque Holandés and with the municipality of La Oliva" to launch "this expected work that could not be executed at the same time as the semi-link, since for that they had to have started the two files at the same time, "specified Lloret during the visit made today, Tuesday, December 20, to the road that will be the object of the action.

"Since, in October, we have had the land available by the City Council of La Oliva, we have given absolute speed to this file" that has been promoted through the PICOS "in this legislature by the Cabildo Fuerteventura ", said the president.

For the commissioning of the new interconnection, the contractor of the works will carry out the conditioning and paving of the neighborhood road that currently connects the newly inaugurated semi-link of the highway with the town of Parque Holandés, in the municipality of La Oliva.

The action, which will include the provision of the corresponding horizontal and vertical signage, as well as the construction of a roundabout at the access to Parque Holandés, is expected to be awarded "in the month of January and that the works begin between the end of January and the beginning of February", thus providing safety and comfort to road traffic, definitively joining the highway with the coastal town in this section.

However, as detailed by the president, in the meantime the award of the work is completed, "we will continue, through the Machinery Works Service of the Insular Institution, developing the maintenance work of the current dirt road so that it is the best conditions for the many users of this neighborhood road ".

The works have an execution period of seven months from their award and the bidding companies may submit their offers until next January 5, 2023 through the 'Contractor Profile' of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura.

Radio Sintonia:

(This was at the end of an article about another section of the axis)

This work is added to the work that the Ministry is developing on the island to continue complementing the North-South Axis. The stretch of highway between Caldereta-Puerto del Rosario and the airport is currently being executed, and the tender for the corridor between the Airport and Pozo Negro is already being processed. The section between Pozo Negro and Cuchillete that will connect with the new road whose project goes out to tender today is also in technical processing.

In addition, it has recently put into service the semi-link of the Dutch Park, an improvement of the Corralejo-Caldereta section that allows to directly connect the North motorway, FV-1, with this urbanization located in the municipality of La Oliva.
