Prisoner who escaped from Tahiche prison arrested in La Lajita.

The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Morro Jable and Gran Tarajal, in collaboration with the Air Service of the Civil Guard and with agents of the Local Police of Pájara have arrested a 48-year-old person, who was on the run from justice after his escape from the Tahíche Penitentiary Center on February 5, when he was giving a talk at a high school in the municipality of Costa Teguise with two other prisoners and accompanied by a lawyer and a social worker from the penitentiary center and that taking advantage of a mistake of these, he jumped the fence of the educational center.
The Civil Guard began an investigation in order to monitor and trace the fugitive, based on the principle of Police collaboration it was possible to locate the fugitive on the island of Fuerteventura.
Although initially the Police inquiries located him in the municipality of Tuineje, this fugitive is a very elusive person from whom it was possible to locate, among other places, in the Valley of La Lajita where he would be fleeing towards the Barranco de Guerepe.
Immediately the Civil Guard deployed a device with 12 Citizen Security agents, a patrol of the Local Police of Pájara supported by the indications of the Air Unit of the Civil Guard with three components in the place where this fugitive would have continued the escape, returning again towards the Valley of La Lajita.
It so happens that the search work was hindered due to the orography of the place, there being numerous troughs and large stones that hindered the movements of the Police deployment, however, it was sighted by the air service hidden among the bushes in the area, without a shirt to make it difficult to locate it.
As a result of the Police action, he was finally intercepted in a corral for animals, when he was hidden under an old wooden cart-trailer, wrapped in plastic bags and black tarpaulins, where he was immediately arrested and later transferred to the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Morro Jable for the instruction of the corresponding proceedings that will be delivered together with the detainee in the corresponding guard court of Puerto del Paz.
