cannabis ask years club prosecutors

Prosecutors ask for 27 years! (Cannabis Club)

Prosecutor asks for sentences of 27 years for those responsible for a cannabis club in Fuerteventura.

It has also requested fines totaling more than 180,000 euros.

The Prosecutor's Office has requested that four people who ran and worked in a cannabis club in Fuerteventura be sentenced to prison sentences of 27 years in total and fines of more than 180,000 euros. The people who sit in the dock are the three who founded the cannabis consumers club, who held the position of president, treasurer and secretary of the association; in addition to a fourth person who worked for the club and who was in charge of the cultivation of cannabis to supply the members.

The cannabis club, whose name is summarized in the acronym ACCAMOR, was founded in 2017 as a non-profit association of cannabis users. But, according to the version of the Prosecutor's Office, the final objective of the association was to profit through the sale of marijuana and cannabis oil. According to information from the Diario de Fuerteventura, the Prosecutor's Office considers that the defendants acted with the intention of attacking the individual and collective health of third parties, and that they created the club under the legal form of an association in order to "grant an appearance of legality to their illicit activity of selling drugs".

Police raided the club and the home of the crop worker in 2018. As a result of the searches, the Police seized 750 grams of cannabis oil, 7.2 kilos of marijuana and instruments for the cultivation of plants and for the production of derivatives. In addition, 188 euros in cash were seized that the Prosecutor's Office considers were "obtained by the accused as a result of the illicit trafficking of narcotic substances."

Tamara: when I first read this article I thought it referred to the Cannabis Club that was situated at Topkapi Palace locales, Corralejo - just below Mercadona - but the date of founding doesn't seem to fit.
