The Punta de Jandía lighthouse will have a cafeteria.
The Cabildo puts out to tender the bar-cafeteria service in the well-known enclave in the south of the island
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has put out to tender the management of the bar-cafeteria service in the Punta de Jandía Lighthouse (municipality of Pájara), one of the most visited tourist attractions in Fuerteventura and which houses the Interpretation Centre of the Jandía Natural Park.
Museums of Fuerteventura, coordinated by the councillor Rayco León, continues to optimise its spaces to offer a better experience to residents and visitors. Lighthouses are unique elements of the Majorero heritage that must be brought closer to the population. After putting out to tender the cafeteria services in the lighthouses of La Entallada and Tostón (Tuineje and La Oliva), it is now the turn of the Punta de Jandía Lighthouse.
For the island councillor, "this is a fundamental and complementary service to the revitalisation plans that are made in Fuerteventura's museum spaces, in lighthouses and other centres of tourist interest, in order to improve the quality of Fuerteventura's offer".
As part of this commitment, the three lighthouses (Jandía, Tostón and Entallada) are currently immersed in a procedure to rehabilitate and condition their facilities.
Interpretation Centre
Located at the southern tip of Fuerteventura, the most untamed and wild area of the island, the Punta de Jandía Lighthouse is one of the oldest in the Canary Islands, inaugurated in 1864. Today it houses the Interpretation Centre of the Jandía Natural Park, raising awareness of the values of this natural park, its plant and animal species, endemisms, landscapes, as well as hosting temporary exhibitions of culture and contemporary art.
