Sailboat runs aground!
#1
Radio Sintonia:

According to Noticias Fuerteventura, a Hungarian-flagged sailboat ends up stranded on the north coast of Fuerteventura, near the beach of El Hierro. The sailboat arrived from the Italian coast and its skipper sailed. The total ignorance of the north coast of the island could be the main cause of the accident.

The boat would have suffered an engine breakdown, was sailing and when it ran out of wind the waves dragged it towards the coast, the firefighters were notified at dawn, but the boat is still stuck in a low and has not finished reaching the coast.

They manage to remove the sailboat that ran aground a week ago north of Fuerteventura.

It was carried out by heavy machinery with some damage but with relatively stable structural integrity

NEWSROOMFUERTEVENTURA

The Hungarian-flagged sailboat that ended up running aground on the north coast of Fuerteventura, near the beach of El Hierro, last week was rescued this afternoon by heavy machinery.

The sailboat arrived from the Italian coast and its skipper sailed. The total ignorance of the north coast of the island could be the main cause of the accident.

The boat would have suffered an engine breakdown, it was sailing and when it ran out of wind the waves dragged it towards the coast, the firefighters were notified in the early hours of the morning, but the boat is still stuck in a low and has not finished reaching the coast.

The boat has been lucky because there have been no major storms in the time it has been stranded and it has been able to be removed by a local company with experience in this type of rescue.
