It was a Maritime Rescue plane that sighted this inflatable boat during the morning, then mobilised the state company to the Talía Seaguard
Maritime Rescue has rescued early this Saturday afternoon the 48 occupants of a new boat that has arrived in waters near the Canary Islands, the sixth since Friday night, this time near Fuerteventura.
On this boat, according to data provided by the emergency device established upon arrival in Puerto del Rosario, a total of 48 migrants were traveling, of which 37 were men, nine women, and two children.
It was a Maritime Rescue plane that sighted this inflatable boat during the morning, then mobilised the state company to the Talía sea guard, which located it and proceeded to rescue its occupants, arriving at the port of the capital of Fuerteventura at around 4:15 p.m. (local time).
This is the sixth boat rescued in Canary Islands waters in the last few hours, after Salvamento helped four other boats, one in El Hierro with 62 occupants and three in Lanzarote with 169 migrants in total, and another arrived by its own means at Armeñime beach, in Tenerife, with 49 people.
This makes a total of 328 migrants who have arrived in the Canary Islands since Friday night, of which at least thirty are women and a dozen minors.
