Petition for signatures in change.org for the sculpture 'Cabra al viento' to be installed in Ampuyenta.

Puerto del Rosario City Council supports the proposal of the residents of Ampuyenta for the sculpture 'Cabra al viento' to be placed in the town. Those interested in joining the initiative can sign the petition so that the work, by the renowned Majorero sculptor Juan Miguel Cubas, can be part of the historic complex of La Ampuyenta at the following link: https://www.change.org/p/cabildo-insular-de-fuerteventura-ampuyenta-necesita-la-cabra-al-viento

After a meeting held with representatives of the San Pedro Alcántara neighborhood association of the town of La Ampuyenta, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario has decided to support the proposal of the neighborhood association so that the sculptural work of the Majorero artist, Juan Miguel Cubas, entitled 'Cabra al Viento', is installed in the town of La Ampuyenta.

The AA. VV began a few days ago a collection of signatures on the platform change.org in order to get this work placed in La Ampuyenta, a town in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario that has always been closely linked to livestock and that meets a series of cultural, heritage and artistic requirements to house in its historical set this work related to the history of the town.

With this, through this statement, Mayor Juan Jiménez and the Councilor for Tourism, Sonia Álamo, on behalf of the municipal government team, want to give voice to the neighbors of the town of La Ampuyenta, demonstrating their support for this proposal that has already collected numerous signatures.

The Goat in the Wind

The Majorero sculptor Juan Miguel Cubas worked with great enthusiasm for several months in this creation that has resulted in a work of large dimensions, specifically eight meters high, which symbolizes the culture and identity of Majorca. Reason why, from the consistory, together with the neighborhood association, "we consider that the installation of this sculpture in the town of La Ampuyenta would be a great recognition to shepherds, ranchers and neighbors of the island linked to the sector and a tourist attraction, in addition to that it would suppose an economic reactivation of the area, since the goat has been the sustenance of many generations, "said the municipal councilor, Juan Jiménez.

The work was recently collected by the Island Council through its Ministry of Culture and, therefore, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario will request a meeting soon with the Minister of Culture of the Cabildo, Rayco León, to value, have well, this proposal.
People interested in joining the initiative can sign the petition so that the sculptural work 'Cabra al viento' by Juan Miguel Cubas can be part of the historic complex of the town of La Ampuyenta at the following link: https://www.change.org/p/cabildo-insular-de-fuerteventura-ampuyenta-necesita-la-cabra-al-viento.
