This Saturday, September 21, the fourth edition of the 'Slalom La Piconera - Department of Sports of the City of La Oliva - Toyota Faycan Motor' is held, a valid automobile test for the XXIII Slaloms Championship in Tierra de Fuerteventura, for the Slaloms Autonomous Championship of Land, and for the I Insular Championship of Quads.
This is a spectacular timed competition that stands out for the high technical requirement of its seven-kilometer route between La Piconera and Morro Francisco, in Corralejo, which will test the skills of the sixty registered participants.
This morning the details of the event were announced, in an event that featured the participation of the mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, the Councillor for Sports, Gleiber Carreño, the Councillor for Works and Services, Oliver González, and Miguel Ángel Guerra in representation of the Maxosport Escudería, which organizes the competition with the support of the municipal institution, the sponsorship of Toyota, and the collaboration of numerous entities, such as the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Naviera Armas, or the Canarian and inter-island federations, among others.
The Slalom La Piconera will have a diverse representation of vehicles, including carriages, car cross and quads, that will be exposed for the enjoyment of the fans in the Park Closed conditioned in the urbanized Panorama Tres Islas area, in Corralejo (signposted access from the roundabout south of Avenida Juan Carlos I).
In that same area, said Miguel Ángel Guerra, located at the exit to Morro Francisco, will be "the magnificent tent that has been arranged by the town hall to perform administrative and technical checks."
Competition program
From 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 21, the program begins with the recognition of the section with street vehicles by the participants (two components in each car and without advertising), starting at Morro Francisco and ending at the first goal of La Piconera , a tour that will also be done in reverse.
After the return at 11:00 to Morro Francisco, at 11:20 hours will be the meeting with the participants and subsequent departure to the timed section.
The first two sleeves will be training, their times not being cumulative, and from 2:00 p.m. the four official sleeves will be held (approximate timetables of each manga: 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. hours).
The departure of the participating vehicles will be sixty in sixty seconds, penalizing the delays in the order of departure of the official sleeves at a rate of 10 seconds per post of delay.
At 6:00 pm the results will be published officially and then the Trophy Delivery will proceed. The Champagne Festival will close the event with the winning teams of the three modalities.
Participants and awards
Bodies: Trophies for the top five teams classified. In addition, there will be trophies for the first teams of each group and class: B 3 - B 4 - B 5 - C 6 - C 7 - D 8.
Car cross. There will be trophies for the first five teams classified and the first of each group and class.
Quads: There will also be trophies for the first five teams classified in the general scracht and for those of each class.
(*) In case there are novice teams or women's teams the organization has scheduled an attention with them.
