Tamara En La Playa

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to pass on some very sad news. I hear that Tamara got a very late diagnosis of cancer, died very quickly and was cremated last Saturday. I am desperately trying to confirm this information from a second source, but unsuccessful at the moment.

I really hope I am wrong, but I thought the forum should know this.

Tom.

I have now had confirmation from two other people, so this sad news is very unfortunately true.

This is very sad and shocking news. She will be missed a lot. She kept this forum daily alive and kicking!

Still wondering, how come doctors couldn't find the cancer in an earlier stage, so treatment would've been optional.

She's the second English women of middle age who died last month, diagnosed cancer, passing within two weeks. So unbelievably quick.

It even seems, relatively too much middle aged women are getting cancer in Fuerteventura and die too young, is our experience.

Jane and I have been very sad since hearing the news of Tamara's illness. Sadly she had very little time left following the diagnosis.
She will be missed by many.

I also wish to put on record my sadness at hearing of Tamara’s death. Over the years we got to know her quite well and at one point nearly bought the identical house next door in Tindaya. She kindly showed us around her home so we could get a feel for the space.

We usually bumped into her in Bar Gonzalez but we last spoke to her in La Luna around Christmas time. She was a lovely lady and, as the signature in her profile says, she seemed to be living her dream every day.

Deep condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed by many I am sure.

I'm shocked; the forum won't be the same without her and her posts about gardening and wildlife. I still cannot believe it.

This afternoon I had a conversation with Peter, Tamara's husband. I gave him the condolences of every member of the forum and while he didn't know what the forum was, I assured him that she was the linchpin of the forum and she brought a smile to many many people.

As far as I can see, she was active (superactive) on the forum up to the 1st April. She probably died on or around the 10th and she was sedated from around the 5th.

He told my the diagnosis was Mid-February but the cancer was well advanced. She was known for avoiding doctors. Her last five days were heavily sedated, so she was not in any pain.

Peter is, unsurprisingly, a little lost at the moment but I assured him that if was in any need, I knew a large group of forum members who would be willing to help.

I'm sure wherever she is now, she will be contributing to a forum somewhere.

Tom.
