'In a Quiet Village' is an immersive experience in popular culture and the memory of the ethnographic tradition of the last century

The Ecomuseo La Alcogida will come to life next Saturday, June 1st, with 'In a quiet village', a theatrical and dynamic proposal by Museums of Fuerteventura, coordinated by Rayco León. In this way, the public will be offered an immersive experience in popular culture and in the memory of the ethnographic tradition of the last century, based on theatre and traditional game workshops.

Directed by Pastorcillo Films, the activity will consist of a dramatized tour of the different buildings of the Ecomuseum La Alcogida with a narrative thread made up of different pieces of costumbrista micro-theater performed by different cultural associations of the Island: La Pioná, Acaicate, Más Ruines que Caín, Agrupación Folklorica Tetir and AAVV Tefía. The public will be guided through different workshops and exhibitions to end in a taifa dance.

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be workshops on traditional games and toys and the theatrical performance will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. Admission is free with no prior registration required. All the information can be found in culturafuerteventura.es/evento/en-un-pueblo-tranquilo

Visitors will become time travellers, being picked up at the museum's reception by the first characters on the tour. You will be invited to spend a day in the village to go to a pioná with a performance of agricultural romances. Along the way, unforeseen Events will happen, such as the wake of one of the most beloved people in town, a birth or a taifa dance.
