The Technology Park tenders the works of the new multipurpose building for nine million
This is one of the first actions of the Canary Islands Geo Innovation Program 2030, giving rise to a center for the testing and deployment of emergency, biodiversity and security missions and operations using drones (UAS) in out-of-line flights.
The multipurpose building will have spaces for design, simulation, instruction, training, mission rooms and flight control, as well as a residential area for technologists and people in training.
IsSEC has the support of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Government of the Canary Islands through the Complementary R&D&I Plans of the Spain Can Recovery Plan (Next Generation EU funds), with an estimated budget of 25 million euros.
For the president of the Cabildo, Sergio Lloret López, this is another step towards the implementation of a technological project that "will position Fuerteventura at the forefront of the technological industry of the aerospace and telecommunications sector, with the importance that this has to diversify our economy, retain talent and create employment among young people".
In this sense, the Minister of Innovation, Rayco León, highlights the importance of training for the creation of local and quality employment.
The project is complemented and supported by Geo Training Center to carry out training actions for pilots of advanced operations with drones. An initiative that has interested the population and that already has 500 people registered.
