The town hall of La Oliva recalls the ban on camping in the municipality.

The Police of La Oliva announces a comprehensive Preventive Plan to guarantee a safe and respectful Easter in the municipality

In view of the expected increase in visitors during the upcoming Holy Week, the City Council of La Oliva has announced the implementation of a Preventive Plan coordinated by the Local Police, aimed at safeguarding both citizen safety and the protection of the environment in the municipality," says La Oliva in a press release.

"The mayor and head of Citizen Security of the municipality of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, emphasized the importance of these measures at a crucial time for local tourism", and explains that "it is essential to guarantee safe and responsible festivities, where our visitors can enjoy everything that our municipality offers, while respecting our natural environment and local regulations".

"La Oliva also recalls the prohibition of camping in the municipality, except in areas enabled by the administration. Surveillance on the beaches and coasts of the municipality will be reinforced, with the participation of the Drone Unit of the Local Police, with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact," explains the note.

As for the areas enabled for camping, in 2022 three camping areas were requested from the government of the Canary Islands in the municipality of La Oliva, which were Punta Blanca, Caleta Beatriz and Mariría, but we have not been able to confirm if they are still the same from this digital due to the lack of municipal information.

This should extend to people living in the back of their converted transit vans and disposing of their waste wherever they please. Make them park in designated areas and not anywhere they choose including next to some of the best beaches on the island.
