NEWSROOMFUERTEVENTURA
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Security and Emergency Area led by Paloma Hernández, has proceeded to install two totems and security posters on the beach of the Valley (Aguas Verdes) with the aim of reinforcing security in this area. This is one of the actions requested by the Betancuria City Council within the Municipal Cooperation Works Plan (PICOS). Safety signage has also been installed to inform about precautions during bathing.
Councillor Paloma Hernández highlights the importance of a measure that "provides an effective and rapid response in emergency situations, which has been possible thanks to this cooperation with the Betancuria City Council from the Municipal Cooperation Works Plan (PICOS)".
For their part, the mayor of Betancuria, Marcelino Cerdeña, and the councillor Enrique Cerdeña, have thanked this coordination that has allowed us to have devices that can be used by anyone and become a tool of great help for the population.
For 2024, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura has approved an annex of almost 800,000 euros to the PICOS for security and emergency of all the municipalities of Fuerteventura. In the case of Betancuria, actions are included to reinforce prevention such as the comprehensive maintenance of the fleet of emergency vehicles, supply of medical material, communications equipment and other new investments associated with the operational functioning of the services.
