The Pájara City Council today congratulated the Hotel Taimar team for receiving the 2023 hotel CSR award


The Pájara City Council today congratulated the Hotel Taimar team for having received the 2023 hotel CSR award, delivered as part of the closing ceremony of the Congress of Spanish Hoteliers.



The hotel establishment, located in the municipality of Pájara, was the only one from the Canary Islands present at this ceremony, in which corporate social responsibility was recognized, through an initiative of the InterMundial Foundation and Tourism & Law, which has the support and collaboration of the hotel employers' association Cehat.



The Councilor for Tourism, Tina da Silva, congratulated the work done by the establishment's team in terms of accessibility and inclusivity, from the beginning to the end of the project, which has led them to be recognized nationally. "The City Council's commitment to tourism for all is in the same line and that is why we are very satisfied that it is reflected in such important awards," said the councilor.



For her part, the Councilor for Accessibility, Eva Sánchez, stressed that, thanks to the effort of the professionals of the Taimar Hotel, people from all walks of life can enjoy Pájara and choose our municipality for a vacation where they will feel well received and where they will have the necessary facilities to have a good experience. "It is a hotel that eliminates barriers and that is why we thank and congratulate the work of the establishment," he concluded.



On behalf of Hotel Taimar, its co-owner Rubén Montesdeoca was in charge of collecting this prestigious recognition.

€14 million for the renovation of R2 Higos Beach in Costa Calma

The R2 Hotels group promotes the renovation of the tourist infrastructure of the municipality. The business group has chosen the town of Costa Calma for the renovation of the R2 Higos Beach establishment.



The mayor of Pájara held a meeting with the director of the establishment, Nerea Mejías Méndez, with the CEO of R2 Hotels, Germán Belmonte, and the CEO of the company in charge of the works, 'We Are Contract', Enrique Delia, to know the details of the renovation actions.

The director herself explained that the renovation works of the hotel will be completed in July, that it will have 82 rooms, that the planned investment will be about 14 million euros and that it currently generates a hundred jobs, while once the reform is completed and its doors opens it will create between 40 and 50 jobs.

"This new project will involve a great investment in the municipality and will help the creation of more than a hundred jobs, as well as the renovation of the tourist area of Costa Calma," said the mayor.
