Many thanks!

Hello - please could I get some advice on how to get the correct paperwork for the Canary Islands resident discount?

I have a certificado de inscription padronal from La Oliva and a (new) TIE card.

I'm not even sure if I'm eligible for the discount.

I've read of the internet that I need a Certificado de Viaje and also that the airlines also use an electronic system. I'm trying to avoid extra bureacracy (wish me luck!). Please let me know if this info is true and if so how do I get a paper Certificado de Viaje (if indeed that is what I need). Any links to websites to apply would be hugely appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Morning all from frosty England. I am hoping someone can help with my query.

I am retiring this summer and having owned a property for a few years now looking at options one of which is applying for the non lucrative visa. Whilst this in itself leaves a few questions to answer my immediate concern is my wife’s visa position.

I am aware that a digital nomad certificate exists which she would likely qualify for. She would want to continue working part time for a couple of years at least and seems to qualify in that she can work remotely for her UK employer.

What I can’t find online however is how the two different visa‘s work together. Has anyone experience of a similar situation, it can’t be unusual for a spouse or partner to want to continue to work. Ordinarily she would qualify under the non lucrative visa but I can’t see if she could then work or needs to apply for the digital nomad visa and the pros and cons of one versus the other.

My second question, any recommendations for a local professional that can be engaged to provide all the advice and help needed if we go this route?

Thank you for reading my rather long question.

She states that you pay the plusvalia & 3% of the sale price for a non-resident.
I thought you paid the difference between the purchase and selling prices. Then you could subtract estate agent fees, lawyer fees, notary fees, and registration fees.

I got an email from Banco Sabadelle yesterday with the following request. Just wondering if anybody else has had a similar request

As a Banco Sabadell customer, you must keep your identity document up to date and send us certain information justifying your activity and financial standing in order to comply with the law.

Please note that, as we have communicated to you before, if we do not obtain the necessary information, we may apply operational income restrictions on your accounts.

The information to be updated in your case is as follows:

Your identity card. You can do this from:

- Your remote Banking. Go to the drop-down menu next to your name and click on My Profile > DNI Pending.

- The Banco Sabadell App. Go to Profile > Settings > My personal data > Update DNI/NIE.

Documentary proof of financial standing. For example, for non-residents, your tax return from your country of tax residence and, if you file it, also form 210 (Non-Residents’ Income Tax without permanent establishment [IRNR in its Spanish initials]).

If you do not file an income tax return:

Hi folks,

A question! I can find lots of info on the EU page and Spanish pages about how to register to vote etc (I am an EU citizen) but precious little about the actual format of the vote.

Is it tick one preferred candidate, or select a number in order of preference as in proportional representation, or what? How many votes can you give?

Grateful for advice!

If you are resident in Spain and still have the Green Card instead of the plastic TIE, you might need to make an application for a TIE now, due to the new EU Entry Exit Scheme, due to come into force this autumn.

The TIE is recognised as proof of your residency, as it is biometric. The Green Card is not biometric. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) requires you to have a visa. The TIE give you exemption from the need for this ETIAS visa. The Green Card DOES NOT give you an exemption.

See this page for further information:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-sp...mmediately

So, in a nutshell, if you are still using the Green Card, it's time to change it for a TIE, to avoid any issues at the Spanish border and to exempt you from the ETIAS visa for Spain.
How do the authorities check houses to confirm they have a license? I always thought the rule was that you can not have guests staying in a house until you put the VV sign up on the property.

Seems unfair if one owner is following the rules while the other is not.
